Refund policy
Because each Whimsy Virtue piece is handmade, often in small quantities or as a one-of-a-kind design, returns and exchanges are generally not accepted for changes of mind, personal preference, or buyer’s remorse, except where required by applicable law.
Please review all product descriptions, photographs, measurements, materials, and sizing information carefully before placing your order.
Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Orders
Please inspect your order when it arrives. If your piece arrives damaged, defective, or different from what you ordered, contact Whimsy Virtue as soon as possible and include:
- Your order number
- A description of the issue
- Clear photographs of the item
- Photographs of the packaging and shipping label if the item was damaged in transit
Please keep the item and all original packaging while the issue is being reviewed.
When possible, Whimsy Virtue will first offer a repair or replacement. Because many pieces are handmade and may contain unique gemstones, glass, beads, or other one-of-a-kind materials, an exact replacement cannot always be guaranteed.
If an exact replacement cannot be created, Whimsy Virtue may offer one of the following options:
- A repair of the original piece
- A replacement using a comparable stone or material, with the customer’s approval
- Store credit
- A partial or full refund, depending on the circumstances
A refund will be offered when required by law or when a suitable repair or replacement cannot reasonably be provided.
Normal wear, accidental damage after delivery, improper storage, exposure to water or chemicals, and failure to follow jewelry-care instructions are not considered manufacturing defects.
Sizing and Fit
Customers are responsible for reviewing the listed measurements and choosing the appropriate size before ordering.
If a piece does not fit, contact Whimsy Virtue to discuss whether it can be resized, adjusted, or remade. Sizing assistance is handled individually because not every design or material can be altered.
When possible, Whimsy Virtue will offer an adjustment, resizing, or replacement rather than a refund. The customer may be responsible for return shipping, reshipping, and any additional materials or labor when the original item was made according to the size selected or measurements provided.
If Whimsy Virtue made the item in the wrong size, reasonable shipping and correction costs will be covered by Whimsy Virtue.
Before returning an item for resizing or adjustment, the return must be approved. Items sent back without prior authorization may not be accepted.
Custom, Personalized, and Made-to-Order Pieces
Custom, personalized, altered, and made-to-order pieces are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged because they are created specifically for the customer, except when the item arrives damaged, defective, incorrect, or where otherwise required by law.
Custom orders may include pieces created using:
- Customer-selected stones, colors, charms, materials, or designs
- Customer-provided measurements
- Personalized names, initials, symbols, or other details
- Significant design changes requested by the customer
Natural variations in gemstones, shells, glass, beads, wirework, knotting, and other handmade elements are part of the character of the piece and are not considered defects.
One-of-a-Kind Pieces
Some Whimsy Virtue pieces contain one-of-a-kind gemstones, stained glass, vintage components, or limited materials that cannot be reproduced exactly.
If one of these pieces arrives damaged or defective, Whimsy Virtue will first determine whether the original piece can be repaired. If repair is not possible, the customer may be offered a comparable replacement, store credit, or a refund, depending on the circumstances and the customer’s applicable legal rights.
A comparable replacement will never be substituted without the customer’s approval.
Earrings
For hygiene reasons, earrings that have been worn or tried on cannot be returned or exchanged unless they are damaged, defective, or incorrect, or unless a return is otherwise required by applicable law.
Return Authorization
Do not mail an item back before contacting Whimsy Virtue and receiving return instructions.
Approved items must be returned securely packaged and in the condition in which they were received. Unless the return is due to an error by Whimsy Virtue or a damaged or defective product, the customer may be responsible for return shipping and reshipping costs.
Whimsy Virtue is not responsible for unauthorized returns or return packages lost in transit. Tracking is recommended for all approved returns.
Refunds
When a refund is approved, it will be issued to the original payment method. Original shipping charges are generally nonrefundable unless the order was damaged, defective, incorrect, canceled under an applicable legal right, or otherwise required by law.
Banks and payment providers may require additional processing time before the refund appears in the customer’s account.
United Kingdom and Other International Customers
Nothing in this policy limits rights provided by applicable consumer-protection law.
UK customers purchasing standard, non-personalized products online may have a legal right to cancel and return eligible goods within the applicable cancellation period. Custom, personalized, or genuinely made-to-order goods may be excluded from change-of-mind cancellation rights.
Damaged, defective, misdescribed, or unfit products will be handled in accordance with applicable consumer law.
